Halloween Happenings In Gretna

Gretna Optimist Club
Halloween Costume Parade
at Thomas Elementary
Children should dress up in their best costume to join the fun that starts at 5 p.m.
They will be divided into age categories: up to age 2, 3 to 4, 5 to 6, 7 to 9 and 10 and older. The best costume prizes will be awarded in each age group.
Treats will be provided for every child who participates in the parade and cookies served after the event.

Monday, Oct. 27
Gretna Public Library
Hallo-Wee Read
Newborns and children ages 3 and older - preferably dressed up - with their caregivers are invited to this special event from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Hear holiday stories, play games and eat a snack at the library.

Friday, Oct. 31
Trick-Or-Treat at Nebraska Crossing Factory Outlets Stop by the outlet stores for treats between 5 and 7 p.m.

Trick-or-Treat at SilverRidge
From 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. stop by SilverRidge for a treat. Children 10 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult.

Spooktacular

10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Dress in your Halloween costumes and come to the zoo for a terrorific Halloween celebration! Admission is 2 and under is free; ages 3 to 11, $7.25; 12 and over, $11; 62 and prom dress patterns over, $9.50. Fill up your bag with goodies at booths in the zoo or for $1 donation, receive a candy bag at the entrance. Also:
Participate in the Costume Parade at 1 p.m. No registration required;
Halloween movie on the hour in the Wild Kingdom Pavilion auditorium;
Five fun educational booths and learn about bats, cats, frogs and more
Ride the Terror Train - free to kids 11-under in a costume with a paying adult.

Eugene T. Mahoney State Park - Holiday Craft Show and spanish dress Old West Cookout, crafts, face painting, kettle corn, fallwinter activities, Friday, 4 to 8 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Sunday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
